A rather more select audience than usual attended last month’s screening of Spencer – many thanks to all of you who came along. If only I could report that those who couldn’t make it missed a secret gem, but in truth the strong reviews were completely baffling and the film was agonisingly sloooow and scarcely believable tosh.
Let’s hope we have better luck this month.
On Monday 4th April, in association with Devon Moviola, we proudly present ‘Pig’ (91 mins, cert.15 – some strong language and violence). Nicolas Cage gives his best performance in recent years in this unusual drama, as a reclusive truffle hunter living alone in the Oregon wilderness who must return to Portland in search of his beloved foraging pig after she is kidnapped.
New regular start time 7.00pm (doors 6.30pm) at Hawkchurch Village Hall, EX13 5XD. Reservations £5 from csma95@gmail.com or 01297 678176, or pay at the door. Refreshments and socially-distanced seating available.
