March Film Night

Latest Film

We had another enjoyable and successful night at the village hall last month with ‘The Lost King’, including our best takings for refreshments since before the pandemic (glad you enjoyed the Dorset Apple Cake). Well done Jacky for coping with the rush. Many thanks to all of you who attended.

Our next presentation, in association with Moviola.org, is on Monday 20th March (later in the month than usual as I’m away in early March) with ‘See How They Run’ (Cert 12 – moderate violence, threat, bloody images, 94 mins). In London’s West End of the 1950s, plans for a movie version of a smash-hit play come to an abrupt halt after a pivotal member of the crew is murdered. This delightful comic whodunit, directed by Tom George (‘This Country’), features an all-star cast including Sam Rockwell, Saoirse Ronan, Adrian Brody, Ruth Wilson, David Oyelowo and Harris Dickinson.

Doors open 6.30pm, film starts 7.00pm at Hawkchurch Village Hall, EX13 5XD.

– Advance reservations, including socially-distanced seating, £5.50 from csma95@gmail.com or leave a message on 01297 678176 (cash or bank transfer);

– Advance unreserved tickets available from Hawkchurch Community Shop at the reduced price of £5.50 (cash only);

– Pay on the door for unreserved seating at £6.00 (cash only).

Subtitles are provided for those who find them helpful. Home-made cake and other delicious refreshments available.

Penny, Jacky, Paul and I hope to see you at the village hall.

Our next presentation stars Bill Nighy in Living – Easter Monday 10th April.
