Hawkchurch Film Nights by Chris Andrews

After three well-attended films in a row, numbers were unfortunately well down for last month’s film, ‘Elvis’.  Thanks very much to those who came along – we enjoyed a great film with terrific performances and timelessly wonderful music.

Our next presentation is on Monday 7th November.  In association with Devon Moviola, we proudly present ‘Operation Mincemeat‘ (122 mins, Cert. 12).  John Madden (Best Exotic Marigold Hotel’, ‘Shakespeare in Love’) directs this extraordinary true tale of wartime subterfuge, in which a British intelligence team plans an elaborate deception to hide the Allied invasion of Sicily in 1943.  Colin Firthleads an all-star cast including Matthew Macfadyen, Kelly Macdonald, Penelope Wilton, Johnny Flynn and Simon Russell Beale.

Doors open 6.30pm, film starts 7.00pm at Hawkchurch Village Hall, EX13 5XD.  Ticket reservations £6 from csma95@gmail.com or leave a message on 01297 678176 (socially-distanced seating available if booked in advance) or pay at the door. New improved projection – give us a try if you haven’t been for a while – and subtitles for the hard-of-hearing.  Home-made cake and other delicious refreshments available.

Penny, Jacky, Paul and I hope to see you at the village hall.
