Minutes of the Hawkchurch Playfield Committee held at the Hawkchurch Village Hall on Tuesday 20th July 2021commencing at 7pm

Present: Cllr’s J Baker (Chairman), Cllr S Bartlett, Mr B Gibbins, Cllr Dr Nolan, Mr D Cowling and Mrs S Harding.

In attendance: Mr J Vanderwolfe (Clerk to the Council) and one member of the public.

P30 Apologies
An apology had been received from Cllr T Greenshields due to sickness.

Cllr J Baker was re-elected as chairman

The minutes of the meeting held on the 21st January 2020 were adopted as a true record; and were signed by the chairman

P36 Repairs and Renewals
The clerk reported that the water consumption of the pavilion was on the high side and suspected there might be a water leak. Mr D Cowling stated that he would investigate the matter. The clerk would arrange for a repair to be undertaken if required.

Mr Cowling was thanked for looking after the site during Covid-19. A window had been replaced in the pavilion and he would look at a problem with one of the gates
P37 Lottery and Finance
The clerk asked if there was a intention of restarting the lottery scheme. It was agreed that it would possibly be difficult to restart it, however it was agreed that the item would be deferred to the next meeting. A question was asked as to how the field would operate without this funding, to which the clerk responded by stating that as it was run by the council, the council would have to precept for the full running costs. All agreed that this would not really be a great burden on the council, and may well be the best way forward

P38 User Reports
The tennis club reported that once the game had been permitted to recommence with Covid-19 restrictions in place the club had become very popular and now had a high membership.

The football club reported that sadly the revere had been the position for football during Covid-19, and that had one stage it looked like the club would fold, however, Mrs Harding was pleased to announce that it now had a new manager who had formed a team.
