May Film Night

Latest Film

Our audience held up gratifyingly well for Easter Monday’s screening ‘Living’ – we hadn’t tried a Bank Holiday presentation before and were a little nervous beforehand about numbers.  Many thanks to all those who were able to attend for making it another enjoyable evening.

Our next presentation is on another Bank Holiday Monday – this time it’s 8th May, two days after the Coronation. In association with Devon Moviola, we proudly present ‘Everything, Everywhere, All At Once‘ (139 mins, Cert. 15 – violence, sex references, language). Your chance to see the multi-Oscar-winning movie everyone, everywhere is talking about!  Terrific performances by Michelle Yeoh (‘Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon’) and Jamie Lee Curtis (‘Hallowe’en’), as respectively a bored launderette owner and the IRS inspector on her tail, who are swept up in a bizarre multiverse battle in this fantasy adventure.  Full details available in the Friends of Hawkchurch Film Nights monthly e-Newsletter – contact me at csma95@gmail.com if you’d like to be added to the address list.

Doors open 6.30pm, film starts 7.00pm at Hawkchurch Village Hall, EX13 5XD.
– Advance reservations, including socially-distanced seating, £5.50 from csma95@gmail.com or leave a message on 01297 678176 (cash or bank transfer);
– Advance unreserved tickets available from Hawkchurch Community Shop at the reduced price of £5.50 (cash only);
– Pay on the door for unreserved seating at £6.00 (cash only).

Subtitles are provided for those who find them helpful. Home-made cake and other delicious refreshments available.

Penny, Jacky, Paul and I hope to see you at the village hall on 8th May.

Our final film before our summer break is on Mon 5th June – a special presentation celebrating the 60th anniversary of the timeless classic ‘Charade’, starring Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn.
