Thursday morning Toddler Group has restarted at the village hall between 10am and noon for all families with small children. It provides a range of toys for babies and toddlers, as well as tea, coffee and biscuits. New members are always welcome, as are older siblings, all at a very low cost. Contact Natasha – or 07887 880116. [Note it’s not on on 6th May, because the hall is being used for polling on that day.]

Starting on 17th May, many more indoor events will be permitted under the current government ‘roadmap’. These will include coffee mornings, social clubs, film shows, concerts, exercise classes and indoor sports, subject to some limits on the numbers.

The first coffee and cake mornings are provisionally scheduled for Friday 21st May and Friday 18th June.

Hawkchurch Film Nights is planning a screening of Military Wives on Monday 24th May. There will be two showings, a matinee at 4:30 p.m. and an evening show at 7:30 p.m. Please contact Chris Andrews (07753 603219, e-mail

Until 17th May, wakes and wedding receptions are limited to fifteen guests. From that date on, the permitted number goes up to thirty.

Assuming the government’s timetable remains on track, restrictions are set to end on 21st June. Gardening Club is still hoping to hold its annual Flower Show in the hall on Saturday 24th July. The club is also planning to have open gardens on Saturday 3rd July and will be serving teas in the village hall on that day. Another Film Night is scheduled for Monday 5th July (same times as above).

If any clubs or private individuals want to provisionally book sessions under the conditions set out above, please contact me.Peter Mitchell, Hawkchurch Village Hall Management Committee
