Who we are
Our website address is: https://hawkchurch.org. This website is run voluntarily on behalf of the Parish Council and the Village of Hawkchurch, Devon, UK.
You can contact us using the contact form at the bottom of every page. If you wish to contact a Councillor or the Clerk to the Council please use the information or contact form on the Who’s who page.
Data collected on the basis of consent
When you use this website we may collect personal information for the purpose of providing services to you. Your data is not used for any other purpose.
If you use a contact form to send a message to one of the clubs, societies, or amenity providers, the content of the form, together with the date, time and url of the page where the form you use, will be sent by email to the relevant contact point. They will use this information to contact you and provide their services to you.
When you use the contact form to send a message to the web team or to the Clerk of the Council we will use this information to contact you to provide services to you or resolve issues or queries. We will only hold your information for as long as it is necessary.
Upon your request and expression of consent, we collect the following data for the purposes described above.
Comments, contact forms and user submitted posts
We do not have a comments capability enabled on the website at this time. We do have contact forms and a capability for individuals to submit content to the site.
Contact forms
Contact forms collect your name, email address and/or phone number and the content of the message. This data is collected when you submit a contact form and is transmitted by email to the relevant contact to support the service you require (for example the leader of an activity or club, the Clerk to the Council or the web team), together with the date, time and url of the page on which the relevant contact form is located.
User submitted content (community posts)
In the case of the user submitted content (referred to as community posts) the information is held for as long as the post is live on the site. You can ask for the post to be removed at any time by contacting the web team using the contact form in the footer of every page.
We do not collect or transmit your IP address.
Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Cookies
If you leave a comment on our site (currently disabled) you may opt in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you visit our login page (only relevant for individuals managing site content), we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

If you have submitted content to the website, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about your, including any data you have provided to us.
